Snowflake Window Clings
Hey there crafty friends! These Snowflake Window Clings are such a fun, easy and oh-so sparkly winter craft for kids, and they add the perfect winter touch to your windows! I absolutely love projects like this—simple supplies, minimal mess (well, as mess free as glitter can be!) and a beautiful craft that the kids will be proud to display. Plus, what kid doesn’t love working with puffy paint and glitter?
This past weekend, I was in full on winter crafting mode. With the cold, snowy weather outside it was the perfect excuse to stay cozy inside with some DIY fun. I’ll admit, when the kids were little, I really tried to enjoy the snow, but honestly? I’d much rather be inside crafting! So, I pulled out the supplies, and got to work creating some Homemade Snowflake Window Clings. These are made with puffy paint and sprinkled with glitter for extra sparkle. Once they dry, they peel right off and stick to any window or mirror—no tape or glue needed! They remind me of those store-bought gel clings, but even better because they’re homemade.

To make things even easier, I’ve created a few free printable snowflake templates that you can use for this craft, or let the kids get creative and draw their own snowflake designs. Either way, this project is sure to be a hit and I’m sure the kids will love their creations.
So, gather some supplies, round up the kids and lets have some winter crafting fun.

Snowflake Window Clings
What You’ll Need
- Tulip puffy paint
- glitter
- plastic Ziploc bag
- tape
- baking tray (to contain the sparkles)
- free Snowflake templates

What To Do
Step 1
Begin by downloading the free snowflake template and printing it. Tape the template inside a clear plastic Ziploc bag to keep it from slipping while tracing the template with the paint.

Step 2
Place the plastic bag on a baking sheet. This will help to keep the sparkles contained in the next step. Using Tulip puffy paint, carefully trace the snowflake designs on the outside of the bag. Feel free to experiment with different colors—if you prefer, you can even skip the glitter for a bold, colorful look! I used white puffy paint since I planned to cover them with glitter, so the color wouldn’t show through once they dried.

Step 3
Now for the fun part! Add different colored glitter to your snowflakes. Sprinkle onto each snowflake until the puffy paint is covered and let dry completely.

Step 4
Once the snowflakes are completely dry, gently lift them off the plastic bag and stick them to your windows. No tape necessary!

Until next time
