Today, I’m excited to share a fun, and simple Paper Strip Pumpkin Craft that’s a perfect fall craft for this time of year.
You’ll love how easy this Paper Pumpkin Craft is to put together with just a few simple supplies you probably already have on hand! Start by picking out your paper —you can go classic with warm fall shades like orange, brown, and yellow or let the kids get creative with vibrant colors for a unique twist. This craft is super versatile too. You can use white or black cardstock as the base pumpkin frame, then mix and match any colors or patterns for the paper strips. (patterned scrapbooking paper would be cute too!) Not only does this give each pumpkin a personalized look, but it’s also a fun way to use up leftover craft paper!

It’s simple to make, doesn’t require any special supplies, and it’s a great way for kids to get creative with colors and patterns. I’ve also created a pumpkin template that you can download for free and cut out.
So lets gather our supplies, round up the kids and get crafting! I just know you’ll love how easy and festive this Paper Strip Pumpkin Craft is, and the kids will love tapping into their creativity to create a beautiful and unique piece of fall art.

Paper Strip Pumpkin Craft
What You’ll Need
- white or black card stock
- colored paper (paper, cardstock, scrapbook paper or construction paper will work)
- glue stick
- scissors
- FREE pumpkin template

What To Do
Step 1
Get your paper strips ready! Cut a variety of colored paper into strips—they don’t have to be perfectly straight. In fact, a little irregularity adds extra charm and character to your pumpkin.

Step 2
Print and cut out the FREE Pumpkin template onto white or black cardstock. We will only be using the outer frame of the pumpkin. Discard the center of the pumpkin, or save it for another craft.

Step 3
Start gluing your colorful paper strips onto a piece of cardstock. I used regular glue since it’s what I had on hand, but I think a glue stick would actually work even better to keep the paper strips nice and flat. Just apply a little to each strip, press it down, and watch your pumpkin come to life!

Step 4
Glue the cut-out pumpkin cardstock over your glued paper strips to create a beautiful, layered paper strip pumpkin. The colorful strips underneath will bring your pumpkin to life, adding a fun and unique piece of fall art!

For a unique look, try layering different colored paper strips onto black cardstock—it adds a striking contrast that really makes the colors pop!

I hope you give this paper strip craft a try. I would love to see your creations. Be sure to post a photo in the comment section of one of my Pinterest pins
Until next time
