Heart Garland

Yay! It’s the weekend. What are your plans this weekend? Today I want to share with you a super simple Heart Garland that is so adorable for your Valentines decor.

I’ve been working on a cute Pom Pom garland for that transition from Christmas decor to winter decor. I absolutely love it, so I thought…..hey, I’ll just add some hearts to the garland for Valentines Day.

You guys……these are SO EASY to make, and super cute! Once the hearts are cut out, just snuggle up, put on some Netflix, and wrap away! In no time, all your hearts will be made and ready to hang.

Let”s get into the DIY

What You Need

What To Do

Step 1:

The first thing you want to do is to print out the heart shaped template. You can resize it to whatever size you want your hearts to be. I did mine 3.5″and 4″. Once you have your template, trace the shape onto some cardboard or card stock. I used a cereal box.

Step 2:

Cut out the heart shapes.

Step 3:

Just start wrapping the yarn around the heart in a random pattern until it’s covered. Hold the loose end of the yarn in place until it’s held in place by the wrapped yarn. I liked using chunky yarn. I love the look of it, and it took no time at all to make!

Step 4:

You can tie the loose yarn in the back of the heart to hold it together, or use a dot of hot glue. I just tied it in a knot and was sure to leave the length longer to tie the heart onto the garland.

Step 5:

Now to hang the hearts. Make a chain of single crochets the length you want it, or simply use a piece of the chunky yarn. With the piece of yarn on the back of the heart, attach each heart to complete your garland.

Aren’t they cute? I LOVE them! They’re the perfect touch for my Valentine’s decor! You could make these in any color. A nice pink & red would be beautiful as well. I already had my pom pom garland made for my winter decor, so I just added the hearts, but you could make a garland with only hearts.

Have fun with this one and be sure to snap a photo and show me your garlands by posting the pictures on my Pinterest pin!

Until next time
