Hey there, book lovers and crafty friends! I’ve been admiring these hand stamped book stacks on Pinterest for quite awhile…..and I really have no excuse for not making them sooner. I’m literally surrounded by a mountain of books that could make a small library – no kidding! I know most of the tutorials out there are for stamped book stacks, but I thought I could do that on my Cricut machine, since I didn’t own a stamp set. So today I’ll show you how easy it is to make your own DIY stamped book stacks using a Cricut.
I’ve been working on some spring cleaning projects , and I was determined to make it a productive week of cleaning, purging, and organizing! Mission accomplished! And I still had time to do a couple of crafts, including this oh-so-cute book stack!
Since I had 2 boxes of books ready for the good will, I chose a few that I would use for this craft! You won’t believe how simple these are to make!
My Cricut machine has been a game changer for so many crafting projects and especially for making beautiful labels. So instead of hand stamping my books, I used a typewriter font and my Cricut to get the look of a hand stamp. I absolutely love the end result.
For my Cricut crafters, let’s dive into the tutorial.
DIY Stamped Book Stacks
What You Need:
- old books
- twine or ribbon
- cricut machine
- black vinyl

What To Do
Step 1
Start in the top corner of the book and begin tearing the cover off, pulling it off the spine. Move along the spine slowly, pulling down until the front cover is completely off the spine of the book. If you pull slowly it comes off quite easily.

Step 2
Repeat Step 1 with the back cover of the book.
Step 3
Design and cut out your words with Cricut Design Space, and adhere them to each book. I wanted a “stamped” look, so I used Tox Typewriter font.

Step 4
Wrap some burlap twine around your book stack and tie a bow. I wrapped these around 8 times.

And that’s it! See I told you these were easy to make! Now you can dig up some old books and in no time you’ll have a cute book stack to style your coffee table or mantle. I’ll be making a few of these for the different seasons.

Aren’t they cute? Have fun making your own DIY Book Stacks
Until next time
