Curled Paper Ornaments
Happy weekend friends. I hope you’re enjoying a wonderful, restful weekend filled with lots of fun and crafting! Even though I worked all weekend, I couldn’t resist finding a little time to get crafty. Lately I’ve been obsessed with making DIY Christmas ornaments from those clear plastic ornaments—there are just so many possibilities! If you’re looking for a quick and easy holiday craft, these Curled Paper Ornaments are perfect. They’re not only fun to make, but they’re also a great way to use up some of that leftover decorative craft paper. And did I mention ‘easy’? They’re almost as simple to put together as my Pom Pom Ornaments, but with a totally different look, that will add a beautiful homemade touch to your Christmas tree.
I absolutely admire those gorgeous, perfectly ‘themed’ Christmas trees that flood my Instagram feed each year. They’re stunning, no doubt, but for me, there’s something so much more special about the memories that come flooding back when we unpack our box of homemade ornaments. Each one tells a story, whether it’s a craft we made together as a family or a little keepsake from when the kids were really little. Our tree may not be picture-perfect, but it’s filled with heart and memories that make the holidays feel truly special.
You can take some time for yourself, choose some elegant craft paper, and make this ornament solo, or choose some fun, colorful paper, and have the kids join in. Either way, this Christmas craft project is versatile and enjoyable for everyone.
So let’s gather some supplies, turn on some Christmas music and get into some holiday crafting!

Curled Paper Ornaments
What You’ll Need
- clear plastic ornament
- Christmas craft paper (2 or 3 coordinating papers)
- ribbon
- pencil
- paper cutter

What To Do
Step 1
Select two or three coordinating holiday craft paper and cut into ½” wide strips approximately 10″ long. I used a paper cutter for this process.

Step 2
With a pencil begin to roll each strip around the pencil to make a paper curl

Step 3
Insert each roll of paper inside the clear ornament. Keeping the curl on the tip of the pencil makes it much easier to put into the plastic ornament.

Step 4
Replace the lid to the ornament and tie a ribbon onto the top of the ornament to finish it off.

How cute are these Curled Paper Ornaments?! Can’t get much easier than that! If you give this DIY Christmas Ornament a try I would love to see your creations! Be sure to post a picture in the comments of my Pinterest Pin.
Until next time
