Black Glue Christmas Art For Kids
Happy weekend crafty friends! Can you believe it’s already almost November? With Christmas just around the corner, It’s the perfect time to start planning some Christmas kids crafts like this Black Glue Christmas Art for Kids. I recently did a post on Black glue Art, and I had a such blast creating it, that I knew I had to create a festive version for the season.
Let’s be honest, what kid doesn’t love painting?! I know I sure did when I was young, and this art project takes that classic painting experience up a notch. If you haven’t tried black glue art before, you’re in for a treat! It’s a fantastic technique to make your artwork pop, and it’s so easy to set up. The dark outline from the black glue makes every color look extra vibrant and also works like a built in guide for the paint, making it easier for little ones to stay in the lines (and helps keep the mess to a minimum).
I’ve put together some Christmas templates to make things easier for you and the kids. They can simply trace the designs with black glue (you can check out my tutorial on how to make your own black glue here!) and once it’s dry, they can fill in the outlines with vibrant watercolor paints. This art project creates a beautiful stained glass effect just like you get with these other fun crafts we’ve done like Butterfly Suncatchers and Fall Leaf Suncatchers!
The kids will love creating their very own black glue Christmas Art, and will be so proud to display it on the fridge as part of your holiday decor. So if your ready to jump into some Christmas painting, grab some supplies, gather the kids and let’s have some crafty fun!

Black Glue Christmas Art For Kids
What You’ll Need
- watercolor paper
- watercolor paint
- paint brush
- black glue (learn how to make your own here)
- Free Christmas templates

What To Do
Step 1
Download our free Christmas templates or let the kids draw their own festive designs! For best results, print the templates on watercolor paper. Since watercolor paper is a bit larger than standard printer paper, I like to trim it down to fit perfectly.
Step 2
If you haven’t made your black glue yet, don’t worry—you can whip it up easily by following this simple tutorial. Once it’s ready, just outline your printed or hand-drawn picture with the black glue and let it dry completely. I usually do this step the night before craft day so it’s ready to go

Step 3
Once the black glue is dry, it’s time for the fun part. Using watercolor paints, let your kids get creative in mixing and blending watercolors to create their beautiful Christmas art.

Try out some of the other templates we’ve provided to keep the creativity going! My favorite is the string of Christmas lights—which is your favorite?
